I'm running for you. Not for me. We're going to make change that actually makes sense here.
I'm Johnnie Jones, your neighbor from Davidson, North Carolina. I've been married to my wife, Lisa, for 32 years, and together we have two children and four grand-daughters, along with our Shih Tzu, Chile.
I'm a blue collar worker who was raised by blue collar workers - my father was in the military, and finished his life in construction. My mother was a cafeteria supervisor for the City of Statesville school system, and together, they taught me that hard work is what it takes to get ahead in life. I worked in construction, then upholstery and furniture, where I learned every aspect of it: from sewing, cutting, applying, and fitting to frames, I did it all.
In 2000, I brought my skills to the movie and commercial industry and became a union member of IATSE Local 491, and from there I entered the automotive and racing industry, where I worked until 2021. That August, I retired to care for my wife following a cancer diagnosis. Today, we're still looking after neighbors together and looking out for our community.
I know what it takes to help our communities, and I know the struggles we're all facing right now. I believe that with your support, I can work for all of us in the North Carolina House and address my constituents' needs and concerns. After all, we all live here and we're in it together.
